Term 4 week 1
Hi it's Violet here. At Enrich today we did a technology challenge that was based on the t.v hero MacGuyver. It was very hard because we only 15 mintues to make a thing to get the hammer and the chisel to get us out of the concrete! We got 8 sheets of newspaper, 3 metres of string and cellotape, 4 paper clips and a plastic bag. Our contraption broke half way through the challenge. Nobody managed to get the chisel and the hammer, so nobody won. Right now I am doing my blog then, it is passion time. I am going to keep going with my writing. I hope you have a great day and I will see you next week, BYE.

Week 9 at Enrich
Today we had chess. Hamish and I had two rounds of chess. The first round Hamish won. The second round it was a tie. Later we watched a video on air pollution. It was very sad to see people suffering to live in their city. The majority of the cities were in the Middle East. Luckliy, Wellington is the cleanest city in world. Which made us all happy. Have a great day. P.S: You are AWESOME!

Creative writing.
Today we did creative writing. We all had to make a character up for a picture of a clown. I said my clown was age 57 and his name was Willy the Silly. Willy's home is a mental hospital. We also had to write about something that was memorable. I wrote about going to Queenstown for two weeks in the spring time. I

Elephants toothpaste
Today at Enrich I was in a science group and we worked with Jenni to make a chemical reaction called Elephants toothpaste. It was really cool because when you mix the ingredients it all foams up and pours out everywhere. I worked with Tara. The colour of our elephant's toothpaste was yellow. We all mixed the yeast with hot water and this type of chemical (hydrogen peroxide). My one exploded! It was the coolest thing I have seen in my whole life. Bruno's red elephant's toothpaste was the bomb because his one looked like lava. It was awesome because all of them exploded.

Day 1, Term 3
Today I did art with Katie. We were learning about the famous artist Claude Monet - he did impressionist painting. Today we tried to paint a lily pond. You don't want too much paint on your brush and you "tache" (which means touch in French) it onto the paper. We have a new concept for this term - Environment.

Making pancakes with Tabbitha
Today for Passion Time, Tabbitha and I made pancakes. We were experimenting with different types of flour. Last week we made ones with normal flour and corn flour. This week, we used rice flour. Our results:
Normal Flour - Really good, smooth and tasty.
Corn Flour - Gritty, sticky and yuck.
Rice Flour - Really good, a bit gritty, but delicious.
Next time, we are going to make muffins using a variety of ingredients to make them gluten free.

SCAMPER
Today at Enrich I learnt how to do SCAMPER. SCAMPER is an activity that involves thinking outside the box. In groups of three we had to pick an object to SCAMPER, and then we had to take photos of what we did with the item. The things we had to do to our object (a pink fluffy cleaning thing) were:
S = Substitute - We substituted it for a hair brush.
C = Combine - We combined it with a computer to make a fluffy mouse.
A = Alter - We altered it by taking the fluffy section off the handle and using it as a head band.
M = Mega/mini - We made our item small and it became a cake trowel.
P = Put to other uses - We used it as a handbag.
E = Eliminate - We took away the handle and made a pizza slicer.
R = Reverse - We reversed ours by turning it upside down so it looked like an upside down hairbrush.
